Эрлинг Холанд Manchester United legend Roy Keane has “upgraded” the rating of Manchester City striker Erling Holand, whom he had previously compared to a League Two player.

Keane was extremely critical of Holand after City’s goalless draw against Arsenal in March, when Erling was completely isolated from the rest of the team and showed nothing.

The day before, Holand, who recovered from a minor injury, very usefully came on as a substitute in the match against Nottingham Forest, scoring his team’s second goal.

This goal was Holand’s 21st this Premier League season, thanks to which Erling regained sole leadership in the goalscoring dispute, and Keane was forced to admit that he might have overreacted about the 23-year-old Norwegian.

“He’s quite a Championship player, he’s improved a lot! As a scorer, he is absolutely amazing, there is no doubt about his finishing game.”

“Entering the game in this way, he wants to prove himself, and when someone like De Bruyne gives him a pass, he just needs a little bit of that sharpness, which he showed,” Keane was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.

Summary:

Roy Keane, a Manchester United legend known for his tough criticism, appears to have softened his stance on Manchester City’s star striker Erling Haaland. Previously, Keane harshly compared Haaland’s performance to that of a player in the lower English league (League Two) after a disappointing game. However, Haaland’s recent return from injury and a crucial goal against Nottingham Forest seem to have impressed Keane. Keane even admitted he might have been too harsh, acknowledging Haaland’s exceptional scoring ability. This suggests Keane is perhaps starting to see Haaland’s overall value, even beyond just goals.
