Коул Палмер Chelsea winger Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League’s best young player for the 2023/24 season.

Ahead of West Ham and Brighton, on the final day of last year’s summer transfer window, Chelsea acquired Palmer from Manchester City for 42.5 million pounds.

Since then, Palmer, who turned 22 last week, has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists for Mauricio Pochettino’s Premier League team.

Palmer became only the third player in history under the age of 21 (at the start of the season) to complete 30+ scoring actions during a Premier League season. Robbie Fowler and Chris Sutton have done it before.

It is noteworthy that Palmer scored 16 of his 22 goals at Stamford Bridge, equaling Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard in this indicator. On Sunday against Bournemouth, Cole will have the opportunity to break the record of the Chelsea legends.

In the fight for the prestigious award, established in the 2019/20 season, Palmer beat Phil Foden, Erling Holand, Bukayo Saka, William Salib, Alexander Isak, Cobby Maina and Destiny Udoji.

The winner of this award was determined from among the players who were 23 years old or younger at the start of the season, by adding up the votes of fans and a commission of experts.
