Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez Finds New Home in MLSJavier “Chicharito” Hernandez Finds New Home in MLS Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer (MLS). The Mexican international joins the Galaxy after a successful stint with Sevilla in La Liga. Hernandez, known for his speed, poaching instincts, and clinical finishing, brings a wealth of experience and elite-level pedigree to the Galaxy. The 33-year-old has scored over 150 goals in his club career and has represented Mexico in four World Cups. “I’m very excited to join the LA Galaxy,” said Hernandez. “It’s an ambitious club with a winning mentality, and I’m looking forward to contributing to its success both on and off the field.” The Galaxy have been searching for a reliable goal-scorer since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2019. Hernandez is expected to fill that void and provide the team with a much-needed boost in the attacking third. “Javier is a world-class striker who brings a unique and dynamic skillset to our team,” said Galaxy President Chris Klein. “We believe he will be a key part of our success moving forward.” Hernandez’s arrival in MLS is a major coup for the league. His signing is expected to generate significant interest in the Galaxy and MLS as a whole, particularly among Mexican and Hispanic fans. The Galaxy will kick off their 2023 season on March 4th against FC Cincinnati. Hernandez could make his MLS debut in that match, which will be played at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.
