Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is on Chelsea’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea only got two new goalkeepers last summer, but neither Roberto Sanchez nor George Petrovic fully met expectations.
Despite all his experience playing in the Premier League for Brighton, Sanchez lost his status as Chelsea’s number one during the season and is now losing the competition to Petrovic, who played 26 matches, keeping his gates locked five times.
According to talkSPORT, in the summer Chelsea wants to invite a more experienced goalkeeper to the role of the first number, and the 30-year-old Pickford sees the “blue” as an ideal option.
Pickford has a contract until 2027, but Everton are in a difficult financial situation and may be forced to sell the main goalkeeper of the England national team, especially if the deal to sell the club to the 777 Partners investment fund falls through.
Let’s add that Pickford is currently spending his seventh season with Everton, who bought him from Sunderland for 30 million pounds in 2017.
