Ливерпуль Liverpool have scrapped plans to hold an open-air bus parade at the end of the season.

Just a few weeks ago, Liverpool had an excellent chance of achieving an unprecedented achievement — winning four trophies available in the season at once.

Therefore, Liverpool hatched the idea of a parade to celebrate winning trophies and see off Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving the position of head coach after nine years at the club.

Liverpool managed to win the League Cup in February, but then the Reds were eliminated from the FA Cup and the Europa League, and in the Premier League they retain only mathematical chances of the title.

According to the Daily Mail, only the League Cup is seen by the Liverpool management as an insufficient reason to hold a parade through the streets of the city.

Liverpool will only stage a parade if they win the Premier League in the rest of the season, but at the moment it looks extremely unlikely.

Liverpool held their first and only parade under Klopp in 2019, when they won 2-0 over Tottenham in the Champions League final.

The second parade was scheduled for 2022, when Liverpool won the League Cup and the FA Cup, but the Reds canceled it because they were defeated 1-0 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Summary:

Liverpool fans won’t see a victory parade this season unless the team pulls off a major upset. The club originally planned celebrations to mark potential trophy wins and Jurgen Klopp’s departure after nearly a decade as manager. However, Liverpool’s recent struggles saw them knocked out of the FA Cup and Europa League, leaving only a slim chance of winning the Premier League title. Management reportedly considers the League Cup victory alone insufficient for a parade. This news comes after Liverpool previously canceled a parade in 2022 despite domestic cup wins due to a Champions League final defeat.
