From the opening whistle, the Lions’ defense imposed its will on the Jaguars’ offense. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson registered a sack on the game’s first play, setting the tone for what would be a relentless afternoon for Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence was pressured relentlessly all game long, finishing with 157 passing yards and two interceptions. D’Andre Swift’s 21-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave the Lions an early lead, which they never relinquished. The Jaguars’ offense struggled to find any rhythm, averaging just 3.4 yards per play.
