Эрик Тен Хаг Manchester United coach Eric Ten Haag has spoken out against the abandonment of the VAR system in the Premier League.

On June 6, at the initiative of Wolverhampton, Premier League clubs will vote on waiving VAR from next season. To accept this idea, the votes of at least 14 of the 20 participants in the division will be required.

The Premier League has already opposed this, pointing out that the accuracy of VAR solutions has increased from 82% when the technology was introduced in 2019 to 96% this season.

According to the Daily Star, United, Liverpool and three unnamed clubs are in favor of leaving VAR. Ten Hag also thinks so, suggesting that efforts should be focused on improving this technology.

“I don’t think there is a way back. Basically, VAR makes football fairer. But we have problems. We need improvements,” Ten Hag said.
