Trailing 20-17 with just 1:49 remaining, Jones orchestrated a heroic march down the field. He completed 6 of 9 passes for 64 yards, including a clutch 21-yard strike to Saquon Barkley on 4th-and-11. With no timeouts remaining, Jones knelt down to spike the ball with :08 left, giving Gano a chance to win it. The veteran kicker coolly drilled the longest field goal of his career through the uprights as time expired. The Cowboys had dominated much of the game, leading 17-3 at halftime. However, the Giants chipped away in the second half with two field goals and a one-yard touchdown run by Barkley. Dallas appeared to have sealed the victory when quarterback Dak Prescott hit CeeDee Lamb for a 35-yard touchdown pass with 3:18 remaining. But Jones and the Giants refused to surrender. “It’s a special feeling to get a win like this,” said Giants head coach Brian Daboll. “Our guys never quit.” Jones finished the game with 342 passing yards and one interception. Barkley added 81 rushing yards and a touchdown. For the Cowboys, Prescott threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns. Lamb led all receivers with 121 yards. The win snapped the Giants’ four-game losing streak and improved their record to 5-6. The Cowboys, meanwhile, fell to 6-5 and missed an opportunity to strengthen their hold on first place in the NFC East.
