Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna has confirmed that he is going to stay at his club for next season.
The day before, Ipswich won 2-0 over Huddersfield, which earned them a direct ticket to the Premier League from the Championship.
This means that Ipswich, which played in the English third division a year ago, has been promoted for the second season in a row, and such successes by McKenna have not gone unnoticed by Premier League clubs.
McKenna is being wooed to Brighton and West Ham, but the 37-year-old Northern Irishman plans to remain a tractor driver.
“I love being here. I am so proud to be the head coach of this football club, I have dedicated so much of myself to this, and I am just focused on celebrating this achievement.”
“To be honest, these speculations have been going on for the last two years, and I have always shown dedication to the club. I am pleased that I remained loyal to the club. We have big and exciting steps to take,” McKenna is quoted as saying by The Guardian.
