Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou has taken responsibility for the derby defeat against Chelsea.
The night before, Tottenham suffered a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, greatly worsening their chances of getting into the top 4 of the Premier League.
At a three-minute press conference, Postecoglou admitted that his team did not deserve to score points in this match.
“It wasn’t the best evening. We didn’t have the attitude I expect from us, and that’s my fault. I have to take responsibility for this.”
“In the end, it’s me who determines the composition and prepares them for it. We were missing so much, so I have to look at myself and see how I prepare the team.”
“We didn’t reach the levels we needed to achieve a positive result tonight. It’s fair to say that our game was nowhere near the levels needed to get anything out of this match, and we didn’t deserve it.”
“My responsibility is to prepare the team to reach certain levels in every match. We didn’t do that today. It’s my fault and I have to fix it,” Postecoglou was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
