Manchester United are leading the fight for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.
Due to health problems, Olise has made only 11 appearances in the Palace starting line-up this Premier League season, coming on as a substitute five more times. But in those 16 matches, Michael scored seven goals and provided four assists.
Previously, Olisa was wooed to Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, but ESPN claims that United is currently the favorite in the fight for the former French youth national team player.
United are leading the fight for Olisé, despite the fact that they cannot offer Michael the Champions League. However, this factor is not decisive for the 22-year-old player.
Olise’s contract with Palace provides for compensation of 50-60 million pounds, which is significantly more than the 35 million pounds that were prescribed in Michael’s previous agreement with the Eagles.
United are in a tight spot due to the Premier League’s financial fair play rules and may use their defender Aaron Van Bissaka, a former Palace player, as a bargaining chip in the Olisa deal.
