Former Celtic, Chelsea and Blackburn striker Chris Sutton has criticized Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah for a clash with his mentor Jurgen Klopp.
Salah had an argument with Klopp when he was preparing to come on as a substitute at the end of the Premier League match against West Ham last Saturday (2-2).
According to Sutton, it is Salah who is wrong in this situation, elevating himself above other Liverpool players.
“I don’t like it, but I think Salah is the one who lost control of himself in this situation.”
“He is no different from any of his Liverpool teammates, and the truth is that his form since he returned to action after injury leaves much to be desired.”
“I have nothing against Salah, he was a great player for Liverpool. He performed in a phenomenal way, but I think there is a line that, unfortunately, he crossed.”
“You can’t live in the past. He is here and now, and Klopp decided to leave him out of the starting line-up. This is his prerogative. He is the head coach, and Salah has no privileges relative to the rest of his teammates,” Sutton told the BBC.
