The Premier League has fined Fulham 75,000 pounds for violating player registration rules when signing winger Fabio Carvalho.
Carvalho joined Fulham’s academy from the Balham Blazers in December. Fabiu managed to play 44 matches for the Cottagers first team before leaving for Liverpool in the summer of 2022.
The violation committed by Fulham is precisely related to the payment that the cottagers were supposed to make to Carvalho’s former club after Fabio left for Liverpool.
In addition to the fine, Fulham may be banned for six months from “registering any academy players who were previously registered with other clubs” — this ban will be activated in case of repeated misconduct within one year, the BBC reports.
Let’s add that so far Carvalho has played only 21 matches for Liverpool. Fabiu spent the first half of this season on loan at RB Leipzig, and in January went on a business trip to Hull.
