Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane noted Arsenal’s progress and named the problem that prevents the Gunners from achieving success in the Premier League.
Arsenal were very disappointed at the end of last season, dramatically slowing down and taking only second place in the Premier League.
Keane feels Arsenal have improved significantly since then, but the problem for the Gunners is having such a formidable competitor as Manchester City.
“Their problem is Manchester City. It was the same with Liverpool in previous years. City are one of the greatest teams we have ever seen, and competing against them is a challenge for Arsenal and the like.”
“It’s not over yet, but Arsenal have to make City win their remaining matches. That’s all they can do. They can’t afford to finish like last year, when they just self-destructed.”
“I think this Arsenal can do it. They will spur City to win all their remaining matches.”
Arsenal have improved, 100 percent. They have become better thanks to the acquisitions and experience of the past year.”
“They may look back at matches like Aston Villa as the ones that cost them the title, but there is no doubt that they have made progress.”
“Then everything will depend on what happens in the summer. They need to keep improving to compete with the amazing Manchester City,” Keane told Sky Sports.
